Located in Central America, Nicaragua continues to grapple with a considerable TB burden. In 2022, an estimated 5,500 people developed TB, with over 400 cases involving children under 15. Due to gaps in healthcare access and diagnostics, around 4,500 people with TB remained undiagnosed, and it is estimated that nearly 200 people died from the disease.

Two Delft Light systems and CAD4TB have been procured through the Stop TB Partnership Secretariat and UNOPS to enhance tuberculosis screening and diagnosis efforts in 2024.
