India, in 2020, had a total population of approximately 1.4 billion people. Within its population, there were an estimated 2,590,000 people who developed TB. Among them, 306,000 were children. Moreover, there were 960,699 missing people with TB (of which 208,461 were children).
In 2021, Delft Imaging implemented CAD4TB, the artificial intelligence software to detect TB-related abnormalities on chest X-rays automatically. The project was implemented with its in-country partner in four districts of Karnataka: Bidar, Yadgir, Gulbarga and Bijapur.
Moreover, in 2021 and 2022, we developed CAD4COVID – an artificial intelligence software to detect COVID-19-related abnormalities on chest X-rays automatically. CAD4COVID was built upon the technical infrastructure of the CAD4TB software and provided free of charge to hospitals and clinics in need during the pandemic. CAD4COVID was provided to several hospitals and clinics in India.
Over the years, Delft Imaging has also participated in several research studies in India, focusing mainly on the use of CAD4TB software.
