Gambia recorded an estimated 3,800 tuberculosis (TB) cases in 2023, with 600 individuals dying from the disease. While mortality declined by 17% compared to the previous year, gaps in detection persisted, with 1,034 cases going undiagnosed or unreported.

We first supported national TB efforts in Gambia in 2012 by delivering 3 X-ray systems and a CAD4TB. These solutions were deployed as part of the Gambia National Tuberculosis Program’s prevalence survey. In 2021, we provided 2 Delft MAC X-ray systems to the Management Research Council Unit, part of the London School of Hygiene and Tropic Medicine.

Both systems included CAD4TB. In 2024, we deployed an EasyDR unit, equipped with a patient bed and CAD4TB, to a hospital in Gambia to help maintain uninterrupted TB screening and diagnostic capacity.
