Ecuador had an estimated population of 18 million in 2023. TB affected roughly 10,000 individuals, and 840 people died from the disease. Detection remained a challenge, with 1,699 cases unreported or undiagnosed.

In 2022, we delivered 1 Delft Light with CAD4TB to the Ministerio de Salud Pública del Ecuador. In 2024, Stichting Quina Care received an EasyDR system, and the Ministerio de Salud Pública del Ecuador received 2 additional Delft Light systems with CAD4TB to further boost national TB screening efforts.

In 2024, Ecuador en Directo reported that the Ministry of Public Health adopted portable digital X-ray units with AI-powered CAD4TB to improve TB screening among vulnerable populations, including prisons. This initiative comes amid alarming TB rates, with 9,300 cases reported nationwide and major outbreaks in penitentiaries. CAD4TB is helping Ecuador strengthen early detection and move toward its 2025 goal of achieving over 90% treatment coverage.
