The Republic of Azerbaijan had a population of approximately 10 million people in 2020. In 2020, 5,900 estimated people developed TB; 360 were children. There were also 2,217 missing people with TB, of which 269 were children.
In 2021, Delft Imaging delivered one unit of the CAD4TB software, used to automatically detect TB-related abnormalities on chest X-rays, to the Ministry of Health of Azerbaijan. The project also included installation and training as part of capacity building within the program.
