Belgium is a low-incidence country for TB; however, the disease remains a public health concern. Despite being a developed nation with a strong healthcare infrastructure, TB continues to affect vulnerable populations.

In 2023, an estimated 880 people developed TB, slightly lower than the previous year. TB-related deaths totalled 40 people. However, detection gaps remain, with 627 people with TB missed by the health system, underscoring the challenge of ensuring access to care for all.

To strengthen TB screening and early detection, we provided VRGT in Belgium with a CAD4TB in 2024, marking a step forward in leveraging AI for TB detection.
