In 2020, Eritrea had a total population of approximately 3.5 million people. Among its population, an estimated 2,900 people developed TB. Among them, 380 were children. In that same year, there were 1,306 missing people with TB (179 were children).
The Ministry of Health of Eritrea procured one Delft Light multi-purpose portable X-ray system (with accessories) and the CAD4TB artificial intelligence software to automatically detect TB-related abnormalities in 2018. The Ministry of Health in Eritrea was the first recipient of the pioneering Delft Light backpack X-ray. The project was implemented with the relevant user training, maintenance training and required installation services.
We deployed two Delft Lights and six CAD4TB in Eritrea in 2024.
