Tuberculosis continues to affect thousands across Madagascar each year. In 2023, an estimated 73,000 people developed TB, and 13,000 died from the disease. As both TB and HIV remain major public health concerns, the need for timely diagnosis and accessible care remains high, particularly in remote and underserved regions.

To help meet this need, the Ministry of Health of Madagascar procured 14 Delft Light systems in 2021 through the COVID-19 Response Mechanism (C19RM). These portable X-ray units strengthened the country’s diagnostic capabilities during a time of heightened public health demand. More recently, in 2025, the Institut d’Hygiène Sociale Antananarivo added a CAD4TB to its toolkit to boost TB screening and triage in the region.
