Situated off the west coast of Central Africa, São Tomé and Príncipe faces a significant TB burden. In 2022, an estimated 1,200 people developed TB, including over 150 children under the age of 15. Due to challenges in healthcare infrastructure, around 1,000 people with TB went undiagnosed, and it is estimated that nearly 50 people lost their lives to the disease.
In São Tomé and Príncipe, four Delft Light systems have been procured through the collaboration of the Stop TB Partnership Secretariat and UNOPS to strengthen tuberculosis screening efforts.
