Solomon Islands recorded 440 tuberculosis cases in 2023, with nearly 50 people dying from the disease. Though the national burden is relatively low in absolute terms, geographic isolation makes screening and diagnosis especially challenging across the country’s scattered islands.
To help overcome these access barriers, we delivered a Delft Light portable backpack X-ray system to the Ministry of Health and Medical Services in 2022, along with our CAD4TB artificial intelligence software to support automated TB detection. In 2024, an additional Delft Light and CAD4TB were delivered to further strengthen the country’s capacity to detect TB early in hard-to-reach areas.
